Edelman, Krasin & Jaye has been retained by numerous families in the wake of the recent fire that devastated a Bronx housing complex. These families consist of those who have lost loved ones and survivors that sustained catastrophic injuries in the largest blaze in recent memory.
On January 9th, 2022, a fire broke out in an unsafe apartment complex located in the Tremont section of the Bronx, tragically claiming the lives of 17 people, including eight children. The number of those injured in the blaze continues to grow as heartbroken family members pick up the pieces.
Many of the victims, located on the upper floors, suffered from severe smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. While it appears that the fire was started by a space heater in one of the apartments, revelations of horrific conditions and fire hazards undoubtedly helped to spread the fire throughout the complex, causing unnecessary death and injury.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this fire, including those who lost loved ones or suffered injuries themselves that night. Our dedicated team of attorneys are working day and night to investigate this matter and will get our clients the maximum compensation for such a heartbreaking and preventable tragedy.
