First and foremost, I would like to thank God for allowing me to stand strong and granting me the strength and wisdom over these past two weeks during my final trial at the Nassau County Court in Mineola, New York. I am incredibly grateful to Sal Anthony Spano, a remarkable, intelligent, and dedicated attorney who fought tirelessly for justice on my behalf.

Although he wasn’t involved in my case from the beginning, he quickly caught up, reviewing every piece of evidence and all the paperwork that had accumulated over the years. In October 2018, I was a pedestrian in a car accident. Thank God, I was able to walk away from it. However, I did sustain  injuries and was out of work for a long period of time.

Through a recommendation, I contacted the Law Office of Edelman, Krasin and Jaye for guidance and advice. After a home visit to discuss the particulars of the accident, I was soon thereafter contacted by the office of EKJ and frankly, I hit the jackpot. The paralegal on the other end of the phone, whose name is Rosemarie, was just the person I needed. I probably asked hundreds of questions and for every answer she gave me, I had hundreds more to ask. But for Rosemarie, that was just fine. She let me talk. Her caring and patience was remarkable. She was able to read me as a person, and not just a client. There were countless phone calls, emails, appointments, paperwork, as well as many fears and tears. My wonderful paralegal got me through all of it. When there was despair and confusion and I picked up the phone, in no more than an hour (sometimes less), there she was. Rosemarie called me before and after my surgery and even remembered my birthdays. After surgery, beautiful flowers were at my doorstep. We became client/friends and I grew to love her.

After five years, and many court appointments with very talented attorneys, my case actually went to trial. This was something that Rosemarie knew I was terrified of. As a matter of fact, we giggled about it many times. But the time had come and once again, she was the one that got me through it.

In the end, I received a very fair settlement through the hard work, professionalism, and “never give up“ attitude of so many at EKJ. I was touched by so many attorneys, including some of the partners, and everyone was amazing. I was treated with respect and dignity and compassion for five years.

I would like to give a special thank you to my attorney at trial, Colin Rathje, who did a fabulous job. Colin worked very hard for me and kept me up-to-date on everything that was happening in the courtroom, which is not an easy thing to do. He was so caring and solid and tough. In the end, decisions needed to be made. He explained everything to me and guided me to a good and just decision. I will always appreciate your hard work and effort.

I will say this, Sal Spano was my attorney and from the beginning he spoke, showed up and advised me in a way that was real and concise.  He had my best interest at heart, always speaking with integrity, while having the hard conversations of what "was possible" & "what was not". Never overstating but always agile and able to change courses when I requested. When a lawyer says listen to me, I have your best interest at heart and want you to get what you deserve, what is fair while never over promising settlement amounts, but promising to do his best.  He will go at your pace, but also know when to speed up to slow down to support your case. He is also extra friendly and funny. If you are looking for a group of lawyers who will treat you like old friends and look out for you like they would their own.. this is the place to go! I cannot recommend this place more. I was hit by a car while riding my bicycle and very seriously injured. We hired Larry Krasin while I was still in the hospital on the recommendation of a family member and couldn’t be happier with how the case was handled. Larry, Kara and everyone else we interacted with in the firm were consummate professionals who knew exactly what to expect each step of the way. They were extremely capable, took care of everything and answered all our questions. This accident was horrible. My recovery took over a year and involved multiple surgeries. We could have lost the house but her negotiation skills allowed us to close on time with a great deal. I had an injury in 2018 and was recommended to Sal Spano from this firm.  They were very responsive and I always knew what was happening. We all know that an insurance company will drag out this process as long as they can, to avoid paying the claim. Sal was diligent and made sure the insurance company didn't get away with anything.  His whole staff did a great job keeping me informed of each step and got the best settlement possible.  I would use them again if the opportunity arose.
